Building acoustics
We carry out sound insulation calculations for office and administration buildings, hotels, hospitals, care facilities and residential buildings, but also for special tasks (e.g. dimensioning of sound insulation enclosures).
During the planning phase of buildings, the requirements for the sound insulation of building components are defined on the basis of the relevant standards and guidelines (e.g. DIN 4109 or VDI 4100). Based on the planning, building acoustics calculations of the relevant components and situations to be examined are carried out in close coordination with the architect. The required component structures and the results of the investigations are documented in the form of a component catalog and a summary report, which can be submitted to the authorities as proof of sound insulation during the building permit procedure.
The following exemplary documented tests are usually carried out in a sound insulation certificate:
- Dimensioning of the required sound insulation values of the external components (e.g. walls, windows, roller shutter boxes, supply air elements) depending on the relevant external noise in front of the respective facades
- Airborne sound insulation of partition walls (e.g. rental area partition walls)
- Airborne sound insulation and impact sound insulation of ceilings (e.g. apartment dividing ceilings)
- Airborne sound insulation of doors (e.g. apartment entrance doors)
- Impact sound insulation for stairs, terraces and balconies
- Investigation of noise from water installations and building services (e.g. elevators)
As a VMPA-approved sound insulation testing body in accordance with DIN 4109, we carry out building acoustics measurements for quality assurance during the construction phase or after completion of a building. These include, for example
- Airborne sound insulation of building components
- Impact sound insulation of building components
- Installation noise
- Noises from building services systems
