Room acoustics

The acoustic “quality” of interiors, i.e. in particular their suitability for various purposes of speech and music performance, but also for offices of different sizes and special rooms, depends to a large extent on room acoustic parameters. Important parameters for this include

• Reverberation time
• Speech intelligibility and sound supply
• Clarity and spectral balance for musical performances.

We advise our customers comprehensively and individually on these aspects and ensure the required room acoustic quality at an early stage in cooperation with building owners and planners.

We provide the following services, for example:

• Calculations in accordance with DIN 18041 “Acoustics in rooms”, which was amended in March 2016 (target values for the reverberation time T including frequency response or the ratio of absorption area to room volume A/V).
• Room acoustic studies as part of sustainability certifications (acoustic comfort).
• Studies for larger auditoriums, event halls or halls for music performance in various forms with powerful computer-aided simulation tools that enable precise prediction and optimization of room acoustic properties using graphic visualization or auralization.
